In this project a tree is selected and used as multi-material akin to the trees and the uses from several aspects [crafts, architecture, anthropology, foods, herbal vegetation, religion, etc.] are explored, with the objective to design an object with the materials from a single tree. The project investigates a variety of trees both in Sweden and Japan. The designed objects take a role to let people know how largely trees are related to our lives and how essential they have been historically.
In fact we could look at trees anywhere in the world, and find that each culture has its own ways of using them. This means that the way trees are used might reflect a specific culture. Hence one could compare differences between Swedish and Japanese culture clearly by looking at how trees are used in the two countries. Seeming as trees are different in Sweden and Japan due to climate, the results would constitute a unique variety.
