CERAMIC LAB.
exhibited at DesignTide Toyko 2011, Ambiente 2012(invited)
"Ceramic lab", a new project by Tatsuo Kuroda, Jo Nakamura and Fumiaki Goto, proposes new ceramic ware focused on the use of material and the process of manufacturing. By using special plaster molds, Kuroda's "one molds" enabled him to create different containers with one mold. Nakamura's "pinto" uses unmixed slurry to give dishes different expressions. After Goto realized that pencil lead is also a type of ceramic, he created a black container, which he calls "the container that draws a picture".
After Goto realized that pencil lead is also a type of ceramic, he created a black container, which he calls “the container that draws a picture”. Nakamura’s “pinto” uses unmixed slurry to give dishes different expressions. By using special plaster molds, Kuroda’s “one molds” enabled him to create different containers with one mold. |
